DA Music Meme For Writers

1. Pick a character, fandom, pairing, friendship, whatever.

2. Put on your music program on shuffle/random and start playing songs.

3. For each song, write something inspired by the song related to the theme you chose earlier. You only have the song length. No pre-planning and no writing after the song is over. No skipping songs either.

4. Do 10 songs and post. Make sure to include the song name/artist.

Theme: Walter and Perry from Home Movies (characters, friends, couple).


1. "St. Jimmy" by Green Day. Hmm... well, my friend and I had this idea of Walter and Perry beating the crap out of people when they're older... kinda like in "Brendon Cheats". This song has a beat that would fit that, sorta.

2. "Passion" from Kingdom Hearts 2. I can picture an AU while listening to this song. Something like... they travel the world together! Or, one has to save the other from doom! Something like that.

3. "Stab My Back" by All-American Rejects. Honestly, I find a bittersweet factor in when fictional couples or friends fight. This song would be it for a teen, angst Walter or Perry if they were to split up.

4. "Antonia" by Motion City Soundtrack. If the two were to get married (like the scene in "The Wedding"), this song would work if one of them were to write about the other. You'd just have to change "she" to "he", that's all.

5. "Cartoon Heroes" by Aqua. Well, Walter and Perry are cartoon characters, and I think this tune works for almost all cartoons. I can also picture them with superpowers, too.

6. "Imaginary Friend" by Chantel Kreviazuk. This song gets to me everytime. I'm basing this off of my own emotions, but I'm guessing the two didn't always know each other. I'm sure one of them had an imaginary friend, and wished for it to be real.

7. "Let Your Love Be Strong" by Switchfoot. No matter what, despite getting picked on by Fenton, Walter and Perry will always be there for each other.

8. "Kyrptonite" by Three Doors Down. This goes back to the superpower thing and AU. One of them would get superpowers, and they would end up going out of control, while the other tried to calm him down.

9. "The New" by Interpol. First of all, let me say that this song is a trip, music-wise. Honestly, I always pictured someone getting high due to a heartbreak. That being said, just apply that to a teen Walter/Perry.

10. "Say Goodbye" by Skillet. I can see Perry moving away, and on his last night there, Walter begs him not to leave. Bittersweet fluff.
